Event Details

Come and stitch a piece of history! Pequot Library is proud to be an official stitching venue for America’s Tapestry, created with a series of 13 embroidered panels, each representing the original 13 colonies. The Connecticut panel, designed by Sarah Naidich, reflects our state’s role as the “Provision State” during the Revolutionary War. Novice, intermediate, and advanced stitchers are welcome. To read more about the project, visit www.americastapestry.com.

Please note that this is a drop-in program, and the tapestry will be available between 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Pequot Library is an affiliate of America 250 | Connecticut Commission, the statewide initiative commemorating the Semiquincentennial—the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence—on July 4, 2026. In the lead-up to this historic milestone, we’ve planned a series of programs that highlight diverse American voices and perspectives, including this program and our current exhibition, Print Revolution: Pamphlets, Persuasion, and the Pathway to Independence.
